Unit/Individual Lesson Plan
Viva La Revolution! Individual Lesson Plan
This is another lesson plan I created in my methods class. This lesson plan is designed to fit into a unit on The Age of Revolutions, Minnesota Standards 9.4.3.11 with the specific goal of students being able to describe the causes and the regional and global impact of the Industrial Revolution (9.4.3.11.1). Students would create a map and timeline that aligns with the content from the lesson, allowing students to work on their geographical, spatial, and cognitive skills.
This was an assignment in my methods class to create a unit concept map and individual lesson plan. The purpose was to practice writing a unit plan and being able to sync lessons within cohesive standards.
This unit and lesson is intended for a senior level US History Class, focusing on the 1920s. The Minnesota standards used are 9.4.4.21: Understand how the economic growth, cultural innovation and political apathy of the 1920s ended in the Great Depression which spurred new forms of government intervention and renewed labor activism, followed by World War II and an economic resurgence. (Great Depression and World War II: 1920—1945)
Christopher Colombus
This lesson was taught to 3 periods of 8th grade US History. This lesson was used during a unit primarily on Native Americans and early colonization.
The students were assigned to write a 1 paragraph response to the closing question. Reading their responses gave me confidence and excitement seeing what they took away from this lesson.
